Working with children and adults, our experienced Occupational Therapists conduct comprehensive assessments, evaluating mobility needs and assessing wheelchair types. We consider factors such as the individual’s physical condition, level of mobility, lifestyle and environment to determine the best wheelchair.
We also work with our Perth supplier network to offer wheelchair trials to ensure that the recommended wheelchair meets the client's needs before making a final decision. Our trials allow the client to test different types of wheelchairs in different environments, ensuring the most suitable wheelchair is chosen.
Once a suitable wheelchair has been selected, our Occupational Therapists provide training on how to use and maintain the equipment. We also provide ongoing support to ensure that the client remains comfortable and safe while using their wheelchair.
We understand the importance of providing a wheelchair that is comfortable, functional and meets the needs of the individual. We are committed to helping our clients achieve greater mobility, independence and quality of life.
To be eligible for an NDIS-funded wheelchair, you must have a permanent and significant disability that affects your mobility. You must also be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and aged between 7 and 65 years old.
The NDIS provides funding for a range of manual and powered wheelchairs, including basic and standard models as well as more complex and specialised options.
