Our experienced Occupational Therapists are highly trained in equipment prescription, working closely with our supplier networks to ensure that we can prescribe the best shower equipment for your individual needs.
Our assessment includes a thorough evaluation of your mobility, transfer ability and risk of falls. Shower equipment prescription is appropriate for participants who have difficulties with standing or balancing, and those who require additional support to maintain their hygiene needs.
We offer our services to NDIS participants and private paying individuals, and our goal is to provide a prompt, professional and supportive service to help you improve your quality of life.
If you experience difficulty with maintaining balance, standing or sitting for extended periods, difficulty reaching certain body parts or have a history of falls, then you may benefit from assistive shower equipment.
The NDIS may fund a range of shower equipment including shower chairs, shower stools, shower commodes and over-toilet frames. The specific equipment will depend on your individual needs and functional goals.

No, a referral from a doctor is not required to access shower equipment through the NDIS. However, an Occupational Therapist can assist in assessing your needs and prescribing the appropriate equipment.
An Occupational Therapist can assess your needs, identify appropriate equipment and provide a report to support your application for funding. They can also assist with ordering and organising installation of the equipment.

First up is Elle, one of our paediatric occupational therapists 👋
🧠 At work: Elle loves helping kids and young people understand their brains and bodies, build confidence and independence and feel successful in the things that matter most to them. She’s especially passionate about neurodiversity affirming practice, emotional and sensory regulation, interoception, executive functioning and social connection. Elle’s sessions are fun, practical and meaningful.
🏃♀️ Outside of work: You’ll find Elle at Pilates, out for a run or on a long walk. She’s happiest at the beach, catching up with friends and soaking up the sunshine. She has a family dog called Lenny and hopes to add another dog to the mix one day!
🍴Favourite food: Cookies and a really good salad.
👀 Fun fact: Elle has done a full lap of Australia and lived to tell the tale after nearly being taken out by a cassowary along the way!
✈️ Bucket list: Visiting Lapland at Christmas time to meet Santa.
🌟 Favourite regulation strategy: A warm shower in the dark with her ripple light to help wind down for the evening.
